Beskrivning

Rosen i detta mönster är en detalj från Långlyckans tolkning
av arkitekten Lars Israel Wahlmans al-secco målning på
Tjolöholms slott i Kungsbacka. Långlyckan lånar intryck från
mönster, huvudsakligen från väggmåleri på svenska träslott
och andra byggnader. Här finns även inslag av schablonmåleri
i Hälsingland och en tapet i Uppsala.

The pattern on this linen tea towel is inspired by the al secco
painting on the second floor of Tjolöholm Slott, a rather unusual
castle on the Swedish west coast inspired by English tudor style
architecture and the arts and crafts movement. The architect
himself had never set foot in England, instead he got his inspiration
from the illustrated magazine“The Studio” published 1893 until 1964.
The castle was completed in 1904
